Toronto Condo Living| Tour my condo + decorating ideas

    March 29, 2017

Wondering what it’s like to live downtown? I recently moved back to the city after being away for a few months and I have to say, I missed this place! There’s something about Toronto—the hustle, the restaurants, the people—that I truly missed.

A few months ago I let out the word on Instagram that my guy and I purchased a condo (finally!). What I didn’t say is that my condo isn’t built yet… I bought into a new boutique building right beside St.Lawrence market. The truth is that with Toronto’s hot real estate market, it was the only way I could get what I wanted: a two bed, two bath corner unit with a wicked view, parking and a prime location. So in the meantime, while I daydream of my rooftop pool and custom kitchen, I’m renting a small place in Toronto.

It’s tiny, but I’ve never felt more at home. After travelling across the planet and living out of a carryon for two weeks, the minimalist lifestyle has grown on me. Everything just suddenly seems more simple: I have everything I need to write, travel, work and indulge in the city.

Tips for decorating a small space

    Find art in your furniture
Small spaces don’t leave much room for decor. When choosing pieces for my condo I always think about how the shape, colour and design can add character to the space. My coffee table and eames chairs have a very modern design, capturing attention right when guests walk in.

Be creative with your wall art
Unconventional, unique, original. That’s what you should focus on when finding wall art to add to your space. Torontonian’s take pride in original pieces, and wall art is no different. In my condo I have a canvas painted by an elephant from Thailand, a unique poster from a media event that was given as swag, and two uneven, opposite prints. All three items get people talking and I love the stories behind each one.

    Keep it simple
Put simply: keep it simple! Downtown living is all about enjoying the city, travelling or having friends over for wine. Focus on only having the essentials—unless it involves wine… you can never have too much wine 😉
