Travel Diary: Four days in the French Riviera

    August 28, 2016

From incredible food to jaw-dropping scenery, the French Riviera has everything you need to feel like a movie star. Though my three night, four day stay was not nearly enough to see everything, it was enough to have me craving a return. Here’s a glimpse into what we did, what we saw and what we ate. The only thing I didn’t have enough to time do: shop! Until next time…

    Where to Stay

If you don’t want the hustle bustle of Nice or Cannes, try staying in Antibes. It’s the more down-to-earth town of the French Riviera but still has all of the luxury to keep you satisfied. I stayed at the Hotel Belle Rives which I found off of Expedia and I loved it! Opt for the room with a view and stare at the bright blue water as you sip on your morning coffee. It really doesn’t get much better than that!

    What to Do

The first day you might spoil yourself with treats and drinks as you tan by the sea, the next you might wander into the historic town of Antibes. Taste some iconic French Cuisine at whichever bistro you wander by, indulge in the scenery that boasts crystal clear water on one side and the French Alpes on the other, then ‘oohhh’ and ‘aahhh’ as you stare at the historical landmarks. Vieil Antibes (Old Town) has the Fort Carré and the Nomade at the Bastion Saint-Jaume – both will take your breath away. And on your last day you can take a short train ride into the famous town Cannes where you can dine like a movie star or test your luck at the Casino.

    What to Eat

If you’re not a fan of seafood, you may want to convert! Smoked salmon with creme fresh, mussels, and fish covered in velouté sauce can be found on almost every menu. The seafood is beyond fresh, giving a whole new meaning to anything you’ve tried in Toronto. Pair it with some decadent Côte d’Azur wine and top it all off with a French pastry. Believe me, you won’t be dissapointed!

    What to Pack
