“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
Organic wine might sound like a different beast but truth me told, only a wine conesseur would be able to tell the difference. As mentioned in my #WineNot: 2012 Tormaresca Trentangeli Organic Red post, drinking organic wine is more of a health choice than a flavour choice. And since the healthy eating and drinking has recently made it’s way into my kitchen, there was no saying no to a wine review on Southbrook’s Organic Triomphe Cabernet Franc Rosé.
A rosé that just dropped in stores on June 25th, the Cabernet Fran Rosé was made for the summer. The strawberry and sweet herb taste combined with the beautiful salmon colour compliments warm weather festivities to a tee—the colour reminiscent of an engagement party, wedding shower, baby shower or a girls’ day by the pool. For me though, this wine reminded me of the summer sunset. A scene I’m lucky enough to watch from my condo balcony every night before bed. As I sat beside my organic vegetable garden (feel free to refer to me as the 17th floor botanist), we watched the sky light up in colour. A summery wine for a summer sight.
